Growing up, one of my parents lived with depression — a quiet, heavy presence in our home that shaped my childhood in ways I didn’t fully understand at the time. There were days of warmth and connection, and there were stretches when even simple tasks felt overwhelming. Living alongside mental illness taught me early how to notice subtle shifts, to hold empathy, and to understand that mental health challenges affect entire families — not just individuals.
I experienced the confusion, frustration, and protectiveness that can coexist with deep love. What I came to understand is that mental illness is not a weakness — it is a human experience that deserves compassion, skillful support, and dignity. That understanding became the foundation of my life’s work.
Choosing social work felt less like a career decision and more like a calling. I was drawn to understanding not only individual struggles, but the systems and family dynamics that shape them. My lived experience gave me insight; my education and professional training gave me the tools to provide ethical, evidence-based care.
Today, I bring both compassion and perspective into my practice. I understand the courage it takes to ask for help and the quiet strength it takes to keep going. I believe healing is not always linear — but growth is always possible.
I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space where individuals and families can build resilience, strengthen connection, and move toward meaningful change.
