Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying)

Mental Health Intern

I spent most of my childhood acting as both a protector and a mother. I became the voice for my sister, who didn’t have one of her own. Constantly on edge, I could recognize who was approaching just by the sound of their footsteps. This hypersensitivity puts my body in a constant state of ‘fight or flight.’ It wasn’t until I attended my first therapy session at 19 that I realized the physical symptoms and mental distress I was experiencing weren’t normal—they were signs that my body had been under stress for so long, it was starting to shut down.

Afraid to ask for help out of fear of being a burden or receiving pity, I chose to continue therapy on my own. It was there that I began to rediscover myself—and also uncovered my passion for
helping others.

Initially, I had planned to become a teacher. But as I learned more about my mental health and began the process of healing, I realized I wanted to support others in a different way. I

graduated early and enrolled in the Master of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University, with the hope of helping others the way my therapist helped me.

From comforting friends and family through difficult times as a child to supporting others as an adult, I’ve found a deep calling to provide a warm and compassionate space for those seeking
help. I believe that everyone has the capacity to change their circumstances—and that the first step begins with the courage to ask for support.

Today, I’m honored to offer that safe space to others as a counseling professional. If you or someone you know is struggling, I invite you to connect with me. I currently offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you take that first step.

Do not give your past the power to define your future.
